I can’t function in the morning without a cup of coffee. Luckily, coffee isn’t too bad for you (well, all things in moderation) but it could always be healthier. Here’s a few simple, healthy coffee recipes I’ve found that will help you supercharge your morning kick.
COCONUT MILK LATTE
This is healthy twist on a regular cup of coffee. Instead of using milk, replace it with coconut milk. You can even use a blender to make a tasty foamy froth to spoon onto the top!
VANILLA ICE COFFEE
Feel refreshed and alert with this vanilla ice coffee recipe. You need a cup of ice, a 1/2 cup of coffee, and 1/2 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk and a dash of vanilla extract.
The known benefits of turmeric, like anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants, are reason enough to try out a numeric latte. That and the beautiful Instagram photos.
To make a tasty turmeric latte, you will need 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk, 1 or 2 tsp of sweetener/sugar, 1/2 tsp numeric, 1/2 cinnamon and 1/4 tsp of ginger.
CHOCOLATE MOCHA SMOOTHIE
This mocha smoothie is perfect for a tasty breakfast/coffee for the bust student on the run! And yes, chocolate can be healthy too. You need 1 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk, ice cubes, 1/4 of an avocado, 5 dates pitted, 2 tbsp of cocao powder, 2 tbsp coffee concentrate cold brewed, 1 tbsp chia seeds and a dash of vanilla extract. Mix all ingredients together in a blender and pour into a portable cup.
MATCHA GREEN TEA LATTE
While this isn’t quite a coffee recipe, it is a latte and delicious so it’s kinda the same thing? You need to try it regardless! Matcha speeds up your metabolism and detoxifies your system. To make it you will need 1 tsp matcha green tea powder, 2 tsp sweetener, 3 tbsp of hot water, and 300ml of warm milk.
Let me know if you try any of these tasty recipes, and if you got that much needed supercharge in the AM.
